In a release late this afternoon, the Washington- based group "Judicial Watch" claims it has uncovered a secret database used to keep tabs on religious and pro- life leaders in the United States.

A Roanoke County firefighter has been charged with attempted murder.
Phillips Casteel was arrested at the Clearbrook Fire Station this morning. He's been a Roanoke County firefighter for about six months, though he's a resident of Floyd County.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Floyd County sheriff's deputies charged Casteel with two counts of child neglect for allegedly tampering with a vehicle the children were in.
Casteel is in jail tonight and has been placed on administrative leave from the fire department withOUT pay.

State police believe the driver of a car was at fault .. for an accident that shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 this morning.
Police say a trucker was forced to change lanes as the car entered the highway at the Cloverdale interchange.
The truck avoided the car but overturned, then another car hit it from behind.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
