It happened just after 3-30 near the intersection of Oliver and Wentworth.
Police say the victim was 42 year old Lynn Newton Turnbull of Northeast Roanoke.

Also today, the Senate is scheduled to cast a final vote on a controversial bill that would require voters to show identification when they show up at the polls to cast a ballot.

It seemed each side was blaming the other for delaying the process to make additions and improvements to the school.
Butch Church was recently elected to the Board of Supervisors.
He say his campaign centered on breaking down the communication barrier between the two boards -- and believes this retreat is a step in the right direction.
