(( The mid-section of North Carolina....where a typical winter might drop 4 inches of snow TOTAL....was paralyzed by a 2-foot blizzard....complete with high winds...and drifts that buried automobiles. It started around nightfall....its ferocity caught forecasters and government officials by surprise. Said one police official: "It's out of sight...snowing like we've never seen." As Highway Patrol officers rescued dozens of stranded motorists.....the Governor declared a state of emergency, called out the National Guard, and urged everyone to stay home. GOV. The snow fell hardest, east of the mountains, along the I-85 corridor....the most populous area of the state, including the cities of Raleigh and Durham. Only scattered power outages were reported....but....everywhere, schools, stores and governments were closed. On North Carolina's beaches....famous for recreation and hurricanes....they were making snowmen. As the Blizzard of Double-Ought roared north, Washington's government buildings and monuments were caked in snow....and closed. Airports from South Carolina to Boston were closed to traffic
Officials were relieved that only a few reports of casualties were received....attributing it to the good sense of people who heeded warnings to stay home, stay off the streets, and stay warm. Eric Engberg, CBS News, Washington.))

Virginia's win over Tech Monday night at the Richmond Coliseum gave the Cavs 13 wins on the season. That's just one less than the Cavaliers had all of last year.

[WIPE TO PINNACLE 7514] Tonight they will attempt to equal that total when they host Florida State at University Hall in a nine o'clock tip-off. The game is a complete sellout and the only place you can catch it is right here on Your Hometown Station.

The Cavs very much wanted Monday night's win, and they admitted afterwards that Tech is much better than its 9-and-9 record indicates.

((Reggie Miller is second in the NBA in three pointers made with 90. George Lynch has attempted just 12. NBA leading scorer Allen Iverson pumps in over 31 points a game, 23 more than Lynch. But his team doesn't win without George. ((IVERSON:))
His teammates aren't the only ones that take notice. In four years as owner, Pat Croce has turned the 76ers into one of the most giving organizations in the league, raising 150 thousand dollars a year for various charities. He feels Lynch is a prime example of what the City of Brotherly love is all about. ((PAT CROCE:))
The Sixers have started the Willineum with a 7 and 2 record. Will Smith isn't the only blockbuster act to recognize

Lynch's contributions to Philly.)) [S-Express]
