An advisory committee studying Roanoke's recreation needs, says the city should replace the stadium with a smaller facility.

Committee members support construction of a new stadium seating three to six thousand. The cost would not exceed nine million dollars, substantially less than a complete renovation of the existing structure.
That would leave more money for other parks and recreation projects throughout the city.
