Crews are working to contain a diesel fuel spill along the James River in Lynchburg this afternoon.

The environmental contractor W-E-L Enterprises was brought in to handle to the spill on the property of Griffin Pipe.
Officials say around 4 this morning, a fork lift accidentally punctured a fuel tank on a truck.
An estimated 750 to one thousand gallons of fuel leaked into a storm sewer and then into the river.
Crews have set up booms in the water to keep the spill from spreading.
Cleanup should take at least a day.

Her family says she had phoned to say she was on her way home, but never showed up.
