A Virginia Tech veterinary medicine professor is under arrest for two felony drug charges.
Virginia Tech officials say they believe John D. Jacobson was stealing a synthetic form of morphine from the school's veterinary medicine department -- and using it himself.
Jacobson was suspended today and relieved of his teaching and veterinary duties -- pending an internal review.

Family practitioner Stephen Fry resigned today from the clinic's Valley View office.
But the clinic says it's a personal decision to relocate, not related to the PhyCor problems.

Lewis appeared in municipal court in Atlanta this morning, at which time he was ordered to remain in jail without bond until his prelimnary hearing on February 24th. Lewis' attorney says the player was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, but did not commit the crimes. Two Georgia men were stabbed to death at a nightclub early yesterday morning. Junior Seau will take his place in the pro bowl.

Another former NFL linebacker is in trouble with the law.
Lawrence Taylor has been sentenced to 18 months probation and a one-thousand-59 dollar fine on drug charges.
The 40 year old pleaded no contest to buying crack cocaine from an undercover police officer.
Defense lawyers tried unsuccessfully to get the case thrown out, contending police used an informant to set up Taylor, preying on the ex- football great because of his history of drug abuse.
