Tultex C-E-O Randy Rollins could get a 150 thousand dollar severance pay- but a judge has to OK it- That's because the company is in Chapter eleven bankruptcy.
The company also wants the court's permission to give special bonuses to 245 key employees to keep them on the job.
That would allow Tultex to keep operating during bankruptcy - and hopefully avoid going into liquidation.
The judge today heard evidence but didn't make a decision. He'll take up the motions next Wednesday.
While the company wants the CEO severance okayed and the bonuses for workers who stay on... the Union representing textile workers is opposed to both motions.

major find -- recovery of one of the plane's so-called black boxes. With
the help of an underwater robot called Scorpio, crews located the
cockpit voice recorder ... and pulled it up from the Pacific Ocean floor.
Earlier in the day, efforts shifted from a search and rescue mission to
a recovery operation ... all hopes of finding survivors now lost.

Flight 261 went down off the Southern California coast Monday afternoon,
killing all 88 people on board. Just minutes before the crash, pilots
reported problems with the horizontal stabilizer -- used to control the
plane's up and down motion. The National Transportation Safety Board is
now investigating reports the plane had similar problems on an earlier
flight. Officials are also reviewing tapes of conversations the pilots
had with maintenance workers on the ground.

Investigators aren't sure what sparked the blaze... but they think it started in a chair that was in a fourth-floor room.

The paper says police have four suspects but no charges have been filed.

The Virginia Cavaliers found out first hand last night why Maryland is ranked in the top 25, and they are not. The Terps beat the Cavs at their own game at Cole Field House.

The Cavs missed their first six shots of the night, but Travis Watson, the freshman of the week in the ACC, made sure this one was good.
But Maryland would take a 41-to-36 lead at halftime thanks in part to the play of Lonny Baxter, who turns this quick drop step into a slam.
The Cavs let the Terps push the lead into double digits early in the second half and Baxter was again the force behind the push as he finished with 24.
