This as yet another Alaska Airlines jet suffered a mid-air scare last night.

COINCIDENTALLY.. IT WAS FLYING WITH THE SAME NUMBER OF PASSENGERS AND CREW... AND ON THE SAME ROUTE AS DOOMED FLIGHT 261. PEOPLE ON THE GROUND IN SAN FRANCISCO NOTICED THE SPARKS MOMENTS AFTER THE PLANE TOOK OFF. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED THE PLANE SAFELY...WITH NO INJURIES REPORTED. PASSENGERS BOARDED A NEW PLANE AND MADE IT TO SEATTLE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

Barfield admitted that he and two teen-agers drank tequila and smoked marijuana before making a crude cross and burning it on the lawn of a bi-racial couple.

Mike Tyson has avoided a courthouse battle.
Tyson reached a settlement with two women who alleged the former champ assaulted them at a Washington D-C restaurant.
Sherry Cole and Chevelle Butts filed the lawsuit saying they were in the restaurant in March, 1998, when Tyson grabbed Cole and requested a sexual relationship, then swore at Butts.
The trial was set to begin today.
The women were seeking seven-point-five million dollars in damages.
Lawyers have agreed to keep the settlement's terms confidential.

Roanoke all star defense man Calvin Elfring has rejoined the team after four games with the American Hockey League's Lowell Loch Monsters.
Elfring had one assist in four games with Lowell.
The defense man has 30 points for the Express this season.
