yesterday, he told reporters why he is opposed to a relief package for the laid off workers.

The Governor says helping jobless workers more in one part of the state than another is simply NOT fair.
And the textile layoffs are different from the help he's promised tobacco farmers.

Economists blame high demand and OPEC production cuts.
That's putting a major strain on homeowners and motorists.

Governor Gilmore is the stumbling block.
He says the state has already given over 2 million dollars in seed money... and that the arch is a symbol of museum and cultural centers relying too heavily on government funding.

Producer Josh Gelman says he was doing research for a piece on the dark side of the Internet when he learned about Sheriff Mike Brown's team.
Last week, "48 Hours" accompanied Bedford investigators to New York to help arrest a schoolbus driver who'd been using the Internet to solicit a young girl for sex.
The episode airs on C-B-S in late March.
