And, for many people, that's what makes her murder so hard to understand.
Tara's body was found last Thursday night, shot several times and abandoned in a ditch... nearly six miles from the Taco Bell where she was last seen January 25th.
And, now with physical evidence from the crime scene to guide them, investigators are moving ahead in the search for her killer.

Tara Rose Munsey's funeral had plenty of personal touches.... like the roses carried by mourners.
And Tara's 1977 Plymouth Volare, custom-painted just days before she disappeared, led the funeral procession.

From the beginning-- Roanoke prosecutor Don Caldwell felt Tara Munsey would NOT turn up safe and sound.

Caldwell, who worked the case as a special prosecutor, would eventually win a murder conviction against John David Lafon.
But the other case Caldwell has worked on as a consultant has NOT been solved.
It's that of Andrea Walnes (Wall-Ness).... a Virginia Tech student who vanished while tubing at McCoy falls in 1991.
Her body was later discovered in the Jefferson National Forest.
At one point-- Lafon was named as a suspect but the case was never brought to trial because of a lack of physical evidence.
