A police Lieutenant who destroyed drug evidence in a burn barrel at his own home.
The CHIEF of Police who turned in a gun along with his badge, and the gun turns out to have been stolen.
Those are just a few of the findings contained in the report from a Special Grand Jury that investigated the VINTON Police Department.

(( For many years Vinton Police raised money for needy families in town. Anyone who wanted to qualify for toys or assistance had to fill out an application and meet certain requirements.
The Grand Jury report says Vinton Police Department Employees did not have to meet the same requirements for assistance. Some got loans out of the fund, others got outright gifts.
Lieutenant Bill Brown had 48-hundred dollars in cash from the fund stashed in his locker rather than in one of the seven bank accounts designated for the Needy Families Fund.
More than 3-thousand dollars is missing, on top of 524 dollars missing from a fund fed by fingerprint fees.
Chief Ricky Foutz told the Grand jury he never reviewed the books on the Needy Family Fund. Keith Humphry NEWS 7.

Geoffrey Bodine escaped serious injury in a 10 car pileup at Daytona yesterday.

His truck flipped 11 times and burst into flames. He suffered broken bones in his cheek, right wrist and elbow and the big toe on his right foot.
Debris from the crash went into the stands and several spectators were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released.
The trucks were 56 laps into the race.

Ken Karcher takes over the program replacing retired head coach Sam Rutigliano, the flames winningest coach.
Karcher brings a mixture of youth and experience. He comes to Liberty after serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach of the Rhein Fire of the N-F-L Europe league.
