The Special Grand Jury that investigated the Vinton Police Department issued a scathing report this week.
[Keith & Jean on set]
Keith Humphry was among those who reviewed the jury's findings today.
[ANCHOR=Keith]
Jean, it's a wide- ranging report... about missing money and failure to keep track of evidence.
More than 3-thousand dollars is missing from a fund created to help needy families in Vinton.
There were guns in the evidence room that had been ordered by the court to be destroyed... drugs that were destroyed withOUT court order.
(--------------)
[VO-NAT]
Lieutenant Bill Brown says he didn't know he needed one. "Some drugs were flushed," Brown told the Jury, "some burned, some sent to the wind." he was quoted as saying.
CHIEF of Police Ricky Foutz indicated he didn't realize a court order was needed to destroy drug evidence, though that's been required in Virginia since 1973.
(------------)
[ANCHOR=Keith]
[SUPER=@Keith1]
Shortly after State Police began their investigation, 40 guns showed up on a table in the evidence room. Nobody could explain where they came from. There were 90 guns that had no evidence tag or any indication where they'd come from or why they were there.
In a written statement issued on Brown's behalf, his lawyer says the department had just finished writing a comprehensive policy on storage and destruction of evidence. Brown and Foutz were asked to resign- -and they did-

The tongue is the main breeding ground for the bacteria that generates foul smelling sulfides -- more commonly called bad breath!
The bacteria can lead to conditions worse than halitosis, for example, gum disease, plaque, blood-clotting and inflamed arteries.
