Bush is expected to speak at the Salem Civic Center on Wednesday.
Campaign officials are hoping the presidential candidate's father can rally Republican support in a traditionally conservative Southwest Virginia.
Virginia will hold its primary February 29th.
Bush holds the lead in state polls, but John McCain has closed the gap in recent weeks.

Governor Gilmore wants to spruce up several of Virginia's highway rest stops.
The Governor has proposed spending eight million dollars to renovate four of the state's ten welcome centers.
Officials fear conditions at some of the state's rest stops may be turning away tourists.
The governor would also like to set aside funds to create the state's first high- tech regional tourism centers.
Improvements would include adding computers and providing facilities for visitors to set up hotel reservations and tee times.

At the end of the first orbit, Glenn had to take manual control of the spacecraft for the rest of the trip. As the world anxiously looked on, Glenn circled the globe three times. He then returned to earth. The "Friendship 7" landed in the Atlantic Ocean. The flight had lasted 4:55:23.
Glenn was rescued by the recovery ship N-O-A-H. There was a lot to smile. He was safely back on earth, assured a place in history.

Dale Jarrett made a move with 4 laps left and coasted to victory winning his third Daytona 500.

Dale Earnhardt had a strong car early in the race he works his way to the front running 9-th after 16 laps into the race.
But the strongest car belonged to Dale Jarrett. He started on the pole and was the leader after 19 laps the average speed at 188 miles per hour.
Then defending champion Jeff Gordon was forced to pit because of an oil leak on lap 33 he went several laps down to the field.
Mark Martin overcame an early pit stop and he would lead the race at the halfway point.
During a caution, Tony Stewart hits a crew member while leaving the pits with just over 40 laps to go.
Johnny Benson was the leader then with under 10 laps to go Michael Waltrip gets lose in a pack collects several other cars bringing out the caution.
Jarrett took the lead on the restart then another caution slowed the field and Jarrett would take the checkered flag under caution winning the Daytona 500 and giving the credit to his crew.

Heather posted a team leading 120 kills with 19 aces and 56 blocks. But volleyball isn't her only sport. She was all district in basketball and softball as well.
Last year in track she went to regionals in the triple and long jump.

Triplet led by three on the back nine shooting a final round 4 under par 67 for a one shot win over Jesper Parnevik.
