Last week we told you about occupational medicine doctor Darrell Powledge.
He was one of nearly 40 doctors who have resigned from the Lewis-Gale Clinic in recent months ... in a dispute with the parent company.
He gave a 90-day notice and was waiting it out -- but Lewis-Gale terminated him before the 90-days were up.
The official reason was:
The clinic found a new doctor who could take his place ... AND take his patients ... so the clinic said it was in everyone's best interest not to keep Powledge around.
(---------------)
[Live=Scott Full/Newsroom]

But now it looks like that new doctor won't be hanging around, either.

(( Just a week before the election that made Vance Wilkins arguably the second most powerful man in Richmond, the NRA dumped 20-thousand dollars into his campaign coffers-- even though he had NO opponent.
Three days after he was sworn in as Speaker-- another thousand dollars went into his campaign and five thousand into his political action committee.

Indeed.

Wilkins' hold on the Speakership he's coveted for years depends partly on a big batch of urban Republicans-- many of whom who are less than excited about gun rights.
