Five people are behind bars after pleading guilty to marijuana growing in a Roanoke federal court.
Electric bills and thermal imaging led police to the marijuana growing conspiracy.
Authorities said the scheme involved the use of high-powered lights inside innocent-looking suburban neighborhood homes where the plants were cultivated.
The five people will be sentenced in May.
