Virginia's Supreme Court also affirmed localities' right to tax vending machines today.
Today's decision in the case of Coca Cola versus Botetourt County may have broad ranging implications for other soft drink bottlers and other localities.
The high court agreed with Botetourt County Judge George Honts. He found Coca Cola's vending machines to be part of the local bottler's sales operation and therefore... subject to personal property taxes.
The company claimed the machines are an extension of the manufacturing process.
The Court says vending machines are "not used in manufacturing but merely selling the finished product."

The Humane Societies in Bedford and Franklin County both list their pets on the site. An easy to follow code can tell you if your perspective pet needs any special considerations.
Petfinder is also a good place to locate a special breed of cat or dog.
Even if you're not looking for a new animal, the page has plenty of information to help you with the pets you already have.
So if you want to make a new friend and extend your family, head to the Petfinder site. You can find them through a link on our web page at WDBJ7dot-com. I'm Patrick Evans.
