The decision is a major setback for the Clinton Administration's anti-smoking campaign.

The first degree murder trial of Norman Douglas White has gone to a jury in Lynchburg.

White is charged with the shooting death of Morris Anthony in this home on Stuart Street last July.
Police say White burst into the home and shot Anthony several times as he sat on a living room sofa.
It happened in front of the home's owner and her two small children.
A five- man, seven- woman jury heard evidence against White today.
They deliberated about ninety minutes today without reaching a verdict.
They'll be back in court tomorrow morning.

Keith, webcasting is becoming much more common... with stations in the United States and many other countries using new technology to reach a wider audience.

In our case, News 7 at Six will appear on the webcasting site of Rev.net, a local internet service provider.
The program runs about 30 seconds behind the live broadcast... but you won't have to be in western Virginia to watch.

For those closer to home who may have missed a newscast, the full media archive will include a week's worth of programs available on demand.

For Rev.Net, the News 7 webcasts are part of a larger effort to bring a wide range of local programming to the internet. The Doc Rivers Show airs daily from a storefront studio at Tanglewood Mall.
While the picture is small... and depending on the modem speed... somewhat jerky... the quality of the webcasts will only improve...
