A 19-year-old Radford University student is being treated for meningitis at a Richmond area hospital.
He left the University on April 7, and became sick while at home.
He's in stable condition.
Health officials say there are no other confirmed meningitis cases in the area, and they are working with the University to identify persons who have been in contact with the student and may be at risk.
Meningitis can only be spread by close, prolonged or intimate contact.
It can be fatal-- a 15 month old Pulaski County child died last month and a Radford University professor died in September.

A small plane crashed today in the Shenandoah National Park.
Only one person was on board the Cessna when it disappeared from radar just after noon.
Around four this afternoon, a state police helicopter spotted the wreckage in the Trayfoot Mountain area of Augusta County.
Rugged terrain has made it difficult for search and rescue teams to reach the crash site.
The plane was leased by an Augusta County resident who's name has not been released.
It is unknown if the pilot survived.

Salem head basketball coach Charlie Morgan is leaving Salem for Tennessee.
Morgan is taking over the basketball program at Dobyns-Bennett in Kingsport. It's the second winningest high school basketball program in the country.

Dale Earnhardt was the story all day long as his car failed to make it through inspection. The team had to cut the rear end of the car off and widen it. The Intimidator who is the race's defending champ went out with Bondo on the Goodwrench Chevy and qualified fourth.
Surprise! Jeremy Mayfield won the pole today with a lap just under 187 miles an hour, as Ford grabbed the top three starting spots with Elliott and Jarrett second and third.
