The General Assembly's back for its annual one day reconvened session... dealing with the Governor's vetoes and amendments.

One override restores the budget language that would funnel seven million dollars to laid off textile workers in six Southside localities, specifically for emergency health insurance coverage.

A dozen teenagers in Western Virginia who've faced adversity of their own are being honored in Roanoke today.
They're being recognized for the extraordinary things they've done for their community.

At three and a half years old, Ashley Scott lost her father and two sisters in a fiery car crash in Danville. Ashley's mother was able to get her out of the car but she already had burns on 90 percent of her body. Through all of this, the 9-th grader at George Washington is a successful student.

Triple-A reports average gas prices fell about a nickel a gallon in Virginia over the last month, to a dollar-43 a gallon for self-serve unleaded.
The decrease is pretty much in line with national averages. But the prices are still the second-highest ever ... behind only last month's record highs.
Gas prices are about 34 cents a gallon higher than April of last year.
