A Roanoke County teenager has died from injuries suffered in a car accident last week.

Police say 15-year-old (PEE-trow) Pietro Falco died yesterday, a week after his car ran off Pitzer Road and struck a tree.
Four other young people were in the car, but their injuries were not as serious.

Danville fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a blaze that gutted a single story duplex.

Fire crews found flames coming out of the building.
Investigators believe it started in the basement but have not found the cause.
No one was hurt.

The family of the eight year old girl who got lost and died in the woods in Nelson County hope to shed some positive light on the tragedy.

Jackie Holden's mother and grandfather announced the creation of the Jackie Holden Memorial Fund.
Proceeds will help create a training video to teach children how to survive in the woods.
They also want to form a search and rescue team for Nelson County.

Roanoke's main reservoir is overflowing again after a two year hiatus.

April 24th, 1998 was the last time Carvins Cove was filled to capacity and water was cascading down the spillway.

It was down more than two and a half feet yesterday, but Monday's rainfall pushed the water level over the top.
City officials expect a normal spring and summer with no threat of water restrictions.
If Roanoke faces another drought in the future, they say the city will be better prepared to handle the situation.

Earl Washington's death sentence for the 1982 rape and murder of a Culpeper woman was commuted to life in prison in 1994.
It was the last official act of Governor Doug Wilder, before he left office.
Now, Washington's attorneys say there's a swab of D-N-A that's never been tested... and new D-N-A techniques that could conclusively prove Washington's innocence.

Sources say he checked into a Roanoke hospital over the weekend for personal reasons.
