It was the virus that attacked computers across the world last week- shutting down programs, deleting files and wrecking havoc across the globe.
Now International investigators have arrested a 27-year old man in the Philipines- and another arrest may be on the way.

(( It's a poor Manila neighborhood where most don't even have ACCESS to a computer. Yet authorities believe THIS is where the world's most devastating cyber-virus may have been born.

Early this morning -- about two dozen plainclothes police officers raided the 2-bedroom flat -- and as fortune would have it -- one of the suspects walked right into their hands.

The 27 year old bank worker seemed confused -- and more than axious to hold onto his cell phone while being arrested.

He was trying to call his 23 year old girlfriend -- identified as Irene de Guzman-- the woman authorites say is the REAL "Love Bug" author. She has promised to turn herself in. But her neighbors say the couple is innocent.

(SOT/NEIGHBOR)

"I don't think they have the capacity to be involved in this kind of thing."

(COWAN ON CAM:14:52:25)

"And some law enforcement authorites are questioning the same thing. Their three hour search turned up everything from phone lines to computer magazines, but no computer itself."

(NARR:)

That hard drive could reveal whether the "LoveBug" virus is really theirs. It circuled the globe last week, crippling some 45 million computers in at least 20 countries --causing as much as 10 billion dollars in damage -- the worst ever.

But the investigation was stalled over the weekend while police waited for a search warrant from a Phillipine judge -- frustrating US authorites who now fear evidence may have been destroyed.

(SOT/RAMONE GARCIA, FBI 13:04:33)

"We're working very closely with authorities in the Phillipines regarding this matter, but it is an ongoing matter and not at libery to comment beyond that."
