There's been no movement in negotiations between the two sides since, but there WILL be movement in the streets next week.

A Radford teacher and coach plead "no contest" today to stealing prescription drugs from his school.

He was videotaped taking prescription drugs used to treat learning disorders from a locked cabinet in the school.

Victor Layman has served his sentence. He was in court to see five others sentenced for their roles in keeping pot production going in the Roanoke Valley.
Like Layman and co-defendent Joe Bennet Smith, these defendants set up grow houses- -literally- -entire houses devoted to the manufacture of marijuana.
The amount of time they'll serve is based on the number of pot plants attributed to each defendant.

A grand jury will consider the case of a Henry County man who allegedly shot at two deputies.

Raymond Eaton is charged with two counts of attempted capital murder.
Today, five witnesses from the Sheriff's Department testified in Eaton's preliminary hearing.
Sheriff Frank Cassell took the stand and described the surrender after a nine- hour standoff.
The deputies Eaton allegedly fired upon also gave testimony.
The grand jury will decide in July whether the case will go to trial.

A new poll shows a tight race between U.S. Senator Chuck Robb and challenger George Allen.

The Virginia High school league's redistricting committtee is scheduled to meet in Charlottesville two weeks from today.
This afternoon was the deadline for public schools to announce their intentions for the next school year, and as expected, William Fleming will join Pulaski County is asking to be placed in the Blue Ridge district.
The longtime Triple-A powers have experienced declining enrollments in the past few years allowing them to drop to Group Two A and leave the Roanoke Valley district.
Fleming will be welcomed with open arms, but Pulaski's road to the Blue Ridge may be a little bumpier.
