A Franklin County woman has been convicted of child abuse and neglect for failing to give her H-I-V positive son his medicine.
Michelle Ivy Hancock faces up to five years in prison...she will be sentenced next month.
Prosecutor Clifford Hapgood says he pursued the case because of the potentially fatal consequences of not treating the boy.
At last week's trial, a nurse testified that the six-year-old boy has a more advanced level of the virus because of his mother's lack of action and he is now at a greater risk for contracting infections.

His adoptive daughter, Margie Irvin, went to court arguing that Jones had intended to leave 200-thousand dollars to her children-

The case was set for trial next week, but the heirs "non-suited" or dropped the case after a year of depositions failed to produce the evidence they expected.
