((There is a shadow hanging over the President. He could lose his license to practice law because of what an Arkansas Supreme Court Committee calls serious misconduct in the Paula Jones case.
An Atlanta-based legal foundation filed a formal complaint against the President saying he lied when he denied a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky during a deposition in the Jones case.
The Arkansas committee is recommending Mr. Clinton be disbarred.
Hes already been cited for contempt in the case and fined 90-thousand dollars by a U-S District Court judge who ruled his testimony was intentionally false
One member of the Arkansas committee says the disbarment recommendation is proof the legal system can police its own-no matter the prominence of the attorney in question.
Lisa Hughes/CBS News:
THE RECOMMENDATION NOW GOES TO AN ARKANSAS JUDGE. IF HE DISBARS THE
PRESIDENT, MR. CLINTON CAN APPEAL TO THE STATE SUPREME COURT. WHETHER HE
EVER PLANNED TO PRACTICE LAW AGAIN IS ANYBODY'S GUESS. BUT DISBARRMENT WOULD BE AN EMBARRASSMENT THE PRESIDENT HOPES TO AVOID.
