Sleepy truck drivers cause too many accidents.
That's according to federal officials- who are proposing cutting the time truckers spend on the road.

Right now drivers are required to get 8 hours of rest during a 24 hour period. But a new proposal would keep truckers off the road at least 12 hours per day. Trucking companies like Fleetmaster Express say this will only lead to more trucks being on the road - to make up for lost time.

He gets a double and sets the Terriers' offense in motion. A few batters later, Brent Adkins will drive home Jones from third with the sacrifice fly. The Terriers get on board first - it's 1-to-nothing. In the top of the 2nd, the Terriers will try to add to that lead as Andy Goodman slaps one into left field. Chris Trent will try to score from second, but he is gunned down at the plate by Thomas Giles. In the top of the third, Goodman will hit another one into left. Trent and another runner will make it home this time.

We begin with Appomattox taking on William Byrd. Late in the game with the score knotted up at nothing-nothing, the routine 6-3 turns out to be anything but routine as the ball comes loose at first and freshman Megan Peters comes home with the eventual game winner. Appomattox had a chance in the bottom of the 11th, but Erin Smith throws smoke to get the final strikeout of the game.
Byrd wins 1-to-nothing to earn a spot in the state tournament.
[SUPER=04-Northside vs. Amherst Co.; :]

Northside tried to make it a clean sweep for the Blue Ridge as Brandy Bailey had the Amherst Lancers swinging in the breeze. But the Lancers would hang in there and despite another tremendous pitching performance from Brandy, Northside's season ends a game short of the state tournament as the Vikings lose to Amherst 1-to-0.

The Comets were upbeat about their chances of knocking off the Knights. But Cave Spring would rule the diamond in the early going as Tessa Ashwell smacks a base hit up the middle to drive in Lauren Lancaster from third. It's 1-to-nothing Knights. Lancaster would again try to make it home in the third. But this time the Comets tag her out on the slide.

The 1988 Winston Cup champ has 10 top ten starts in the first 12 races of the year, and five top 10 finishes in those events. But more importantly he has a clear head and a renewed enthusiasm for racing now that he knows he'll be the centerpiece in Dodge's return to NASCAR next season.
