Today they gave him a rousing send off as he took aim at George Allen.

Talks between President Clinton and Russian President Vladimir Putin are said to have been "serious and focused."

Clinton arrived in Moscow earlier today.
The two then met at the Kremlin to discuss U-S missile defense plans.
That's the main bone of contention between the two countries now -- with Russia objecting that U-S plans threaten to unleash a new arms race.
Aides described the more than two-and-a-half-hour talks as both businesslike and friendly, but the pair aren't on a first-name basis yet, as Clinton was with Putin's predecessor, Boris Yeltsin.

A grand jury has indicted an 87-year-old Bedford man on malicious wounding charges for allegedly hitting his wife.

Bedford County prosecutors say Raymond Farley struck his wife in the chest, causing a severe bruise.
80- year old Ruby Farley died on May 19th of congestive heart failure.
Prosecutors say Farley violated a protective order when he allegedly attacked his wife.

Archaeologists scouring the Mediterranean sea bed make an incredible discovery.

They claim to have found the ruins of several submerged ancient cities off Egypt's northern coast.
The "lost" cities, built at least 2-and-a-half thousand years ago, towards the end of the era of the Pharaohs, are mentioned in Greek tragedies.
The discoveries were announced today by Egyptian officials and an international team of marine archaeologists.

(( When the defending men's 5k champ Travis Walter showed up at the last minute, most figured a repeat performance was in store. But by the time the runners reached Victory Stadium, Walter had a shadow that wasn't going to fade in the form of Tech grad school student Jason Dowdy. The two would run shoulder to shoulder the entire way - with each planning the same strategy - out kick the other down the final hill on Jefferson coming home. Dowdy, who a regional champ during his high school day at Cave Spring would win the battle and his first ever festival 5K title in 15 minutes and 20 seconds. ((JASON DOWDY:)) ((TRAVIS WALTER:)) The Dowdy brothers tag teamed the field - as Jason younger brother Ben, a 1997 Cave Spring gad, who is a rising senior at Tech - captured the men's 10K event with ease in a time of 32 minutes and 34 seconds. ((BEN DOWDY:)) The women's winners weren't sisters - but they are both Blacksburg residents. Recently married Roxann Polo Reasor won her third straight 5K title in just over 19 minutes. ((ROXANN POLO REASOR:)) While Roxann got the three-peat, women's 10 K winner Aimee Phillippi turned her first ever appearance at the Festival run into a victory. Jason Keller held off Mark Martin today to win the MBNA Platinum 200.

Kyle Petty returned to the track driving Adam's car. He made it to sixth place but finished 26-th after a late pit stop.
Keller made his move on lap 158 passing Mark Martin and he holds on for the fourth Busch race victory of his career.

The Green Bay Packers have released tight end Mark Chmura. He's facing trial on charges he sexually assaulted his 17-year old baby sitter.
With the release, Green Bay gains 900-thousand dollars in salary cap room to sign free agents.
Chmura issued a statement earlier this evening.
