Authorities began searching the lake after receiving a 9-1-1 call shortly before three this afternon.

They're concentrating on the area near the Beacon Light Marina where two men were boating.
The pair apparently jumped in to cool off-- but one of the men did not surface.
Dive teams were called in along with the Bedford County Sheriff's Department.
The search was called off around nine- forty five this evening.
Officials plan to resume the search at seven A-M.
So far, there is no word on the man's name.

A homeless man used fake credentials from Virginia Commonwealth University to work a shift as a physician's assistant at a Pittsburgh hospital.

Police say 26 year old Gary Lee (steer-lee) Stearley went on rounds with a physician and helped a doctor tie up a suture at Mercy Hospital.
His deception was discovered when he showed up the next day.
Stearley told officials he is H-I-V positive and has a history of mental illness.
He's been charged with trespassing and false impersonation.

A new study makes the case that the nation's capital punishment system is rife with errors.
A Columbia university study find that appeals were successful two- thirds of the time, in death penalty cases that were appealed from 1973 to 1995.
Lead author James (leeb-man) Liebman says most cases are so seriously flawed, they have to be done over.
Meanwhile--- the rank and file of the American Medical Association want to apply their group's clout to seek a nati
onwide moratorium on the death penalty.

Jeremy Mayfield would run strong early in the race. He passed Ricky Rudd for the lead on lap 55 and he was leading the race at the halfway point.
Dale Earnhardt Junior struggled. He goes to the pits a lap down on lap 115.
Then 2 laps later Bobby Labonte passes Mark Martin putting him a lap down. Labonte led for several laps.
But the rain came down heavy forcing NASCAR to red flag the race. Mayfield was the leader when the cars stopped.
The race started but it was red flaged again on lap 194 and Tony Stewart was declared the winner of the K-Mart 400 for his second straight win.

Rosalie Eldridge's brood mare, Gossip, has a new foal on the ground. The young filly is one of many horses Rosalie has helped bring into the world.
Rosalie started breeding American Saddlebreds back in 1977 and since then she hasn't minded getting her hands dirty. During one delivery the foal's head was stuck so Rosalie went in.

Just one of many successful deliveries at Holly Woods Farms. Rosalie is proud of the babies she produces. Harlem's Hey Look at Me sold for six thousand dollars at three months old. At two years old the stallion's estimated worth was 60-thousand
Rosalie researches the stallions she uses and chooses the ones with the qualities she would like to see reproduced.
It's a business that's all in the family. Her son Bob is carrying on the family tradition. In fact the land itself is a family heirloom.

Kuerten would face Magnus Norman in the finals.
Norman fell behind by two sets after committing 34 unforced errors. The Swede made a run but Kuerten kept his composure after losing the third set to win the final set and claim the French Open title.
It's Kuerten's second French Open title, after winning the event 3 years ago.
