Radford and Liberty Universities top the list of awards in the Big South Track and Field honors.

Radford's Khadijah (ka-dee-ja) Conda is the conference's women's track and field player of the year.
Conda transferred in from Purdue and set the Big South record in the 400 meters.

Liberty's Michael Decker is the male athlete of the year. Decker earns this award a second straight yea and is Liberty's first in door All-American.

Four Virginia tech softball players have been named to the all state team. Second Baseman Michelle Meadows, outfielder/pitcher Clarissa Crowell, centerfielder Bronwyn Blair and pitcher Ashlee Dobbe all made the Virginia Sports Information Director's all state squad. Meadows is the co-player of the year.

Aaron Gates, an Express defenseman is a noted outdoorsman.
In about two weeks he will complete a hike from Massachusetts to Canada and back. The hike is between 700 and 8-00 miles and he is doing most of it alone. He is hiking 20 miles a day and eats rice and snickers bars.
Forward Rob Sweyer tried out for the Canadian Olympic baseball team this summer and was one of the final cuts.
Sweyer one heck of a pitcher according to the Express play-by play announcer Randy Sominski.
