The Southern Baptist Convention's reason to NOT allow women to be pastors was based on scripture from the Bible that says men are the leaders of the church. The decision will allow women to continue to be ordained but will have to serve below the senior pastor. Reverend J. Michael Palmer of the Green Ridge Baptist Church says even though society has changed the role of women in the Bible hasn't.

That after the murder defendant, 23-year old Timothy "Nippy" Buford pled guilty to a first degree murder charge today.

Authorities say 35 year old Dennis Tanner took his estranged girlfriend, 34 year old Lisa Mays at gunpoint.
He forced her into a car and drove toward the intersection of Piney Forest and Parker Road.

But when they got there Tanner allegedly shot Mays twice and turned the gun on himself.

Hamilton becomes the Wizards' fifth coach in three seasons.

The Virginia High School League's redistricting efforts continue.
Sources told news 7 sports that Pulaski County high school was appealing it's move to the Southwest District, and wanted to go to the Blue Ridge. But Pulaski athletic director Rod Reedy says his school will accept placement in the Southwest but he's NOT sure the district will accept the Cougars.
Sources also said that Rockbridge County has appealed STAYING in the Blue Ridge District, wanting to instead got to the Valley District. The VHSL said yesterday that Rockbridge will stay in the Blue Ridge. Rockbridge can present an appeal during the VHSL's September meetings.
