It started as a celebration of the Los Angeles Lakers' NBA championship victory .. but it got nasty last night when some fans turned on the police and the media.

In Brussels, it was a soccer match that sent two thousand turkish fans on a half-hour rampage through the city.
A turkish team defeated Belgium two - zero in the Euro 2000 football tournament. The victory guaranteed the Turks a place in the quarter-finals of the championships, but the mood turned ugly when scuffles erupted between Turkish fans and rival Belgians.
Scores of riot police firing tear gas were deployed by the Belgian authorities to restore order.

Police in Radford are looking for a killer.
They say the death of 23 year old Lori Pleasants is a murder.
Her body was discovered Thursday night, and as Kate Weidaw reports, many questions are still unanswered.

((Friends of 23 year old Lori Pleasants called Radford police around 11-30 Thursday night saying they found Lori in her apartment on Clement Street without a pulse. Jeff Gillespie who lives down stairs saw her friends outside trying to figure out what to do.

Gillespie says he heard Pleasant's dog barking more then usual Thursday night but didn't think anything of it. The owner of the Alleghany Inn where Pleasants worked for the past two years was worried Thursday when she didn't show up for work.

Celanese workers headed to their jobs this morning knowing the threat of a strike is over .. at least for now. The current contract that expired at midnight is being extended.
The company and its union workers are calling for outside help to resolve the current contract dispute .. after negotiations deadlocked once again Monday.

Union workers are back on the job for a second day at Rubatex, alongside some of the same people who replaced them.

The nine month walkout officially ended yesterday, when union members reported for the 7 AM shift.
The company says it's still unclear whether there's room for strikers AND the replacement workers.

Nancy Marchand won a Golden Globe in January for her role as the scheming matriarch on the HBO series, The Sopranos. She also won four Emmys for playing Mrs. Pynchon, the publisher on ``Lou Grant.''
Marchand was 72 .. she had lung cancer and emphysema. She died Sunday night at her home in Connecticut with her family at her side.
