Keith, it's a way to start an official campaign for governor earlier than anyone ever has in Virginia, while politely trying to NOT overshadow this year's candidates.
So Operation Triple Play is about George Allen for Senate and George Bush for President this year-- and John Hager for governor in 2001.

Since party insiders picked a convention earlier this month as the way one of these two men will be nominated next spring, the Hager camp has promised to build a massive grassroots organization that Hager hopes will stack the largest campaign in U-S political history.
Hager wants to take his one term at the helm of the Senate, and his career as a tobacco executive and civic volunteer to the top.
He's already the first lieutenant governor in America to use a wheelchair-- after contracting polio from his son.
So far, there's NO instant theme, like "no car tax" was for Jim Gilmore.

The parents of seven Virginia schoolchildren are going to court over a mandatory moment of silence in state classrooms.
The American Civil Liberties Union filed a federal lawsuit today in Alexandria, saying the new law violates the constitutional mandate for the separation of church and state.
The state Superintendent of Public Instruction last week advised teachers to NOT mention prayer as an option for the moment of silence.
But Attorney General Mark Earley then declared teachers need NOT refrain from suggesting it.
The U-S Supreme Court ruled this week that student-led prayer at high school football games was UNconstitutional.
