Despite possible overcrowding problems at the new high school, The Roanoke County School Board has decided to keep the attendance zones as they are.

The board said after listening to parents it realized that this option would create less complications.

Cave Spring, Green Valley, and Oak Grove Elementaries will filter into Hidden Valley Middle School which will feed South County High School.
As far as the overcrowding issue at the new high school, the board says one option it might considering is adding additional classrooms.

Raleigh Campbell is retiring as the executive director of the Council of Community Services, a job he's held for 32 years.
The nonprofit agency coordinates the work of dozens of social service organizations.
Campbell helped develop Total Action Against Poverty, the AIDS Council, the League of Older Americans and other groups.
Campbell's friends and co-workers gave him a big sendoff yesterday at the Patrick Henry Hotel.
