The issue comes to light following yesterday's deadly accident near the Hollins exit in Roanoke County.
Two teenagers were killed after they were thrown from the back of a pick-up truck.
But will a new state law that takes effect July 1st prevent accidents like this one?

Teresa, the new law will make it illegal for children under the age of 16 to ride in the back of a pick-up truck.
While the law would NOT have applied in the recent accident.
Some lawmakers believe it will make a difference in the long run- but others think it infringes on people's rights.
