Some members of a Roanoke neighborhood watch group are up in arms over what they believe to be gang activity near their homes. They say they were the intended target of a shooting that happened over the weekend.
Luckily, no one was injured.

A man was killed over the weekend after being thrown from the bed of a pickup truck when the vehicle lost control.

It happened in Alleghany County... in the east bound lane of Interstate 64 near Clifton Forge around 5-45 Saturday evening.
21-year-old Brian Edwin Nicholson of Sterling died when he was thrown from a 95 Ford Ranger Pickup as it ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail, and rolled over several times.

A traffic fatality occurred over the weekend when a man was thrown from the bed of a pickup truck he was riding in.

After searching five and a half hours yesterday afternoon, local search and rescue teams found an injured hiker on the Appalachian Trial in Giles County.
Officials say the woman was hiking with five others when she fell, causing minor head injuries.
She was taken to Giles Memorial Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
So far there's no word on her name.

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held this weekend to mark the start of renovations to Glenvar Middle School and construction on the new South County High School.
Local dignitaries and residents were among those who came out.
And while most are happy with the new schools... some who live near the new high school say they are upset that trees blocking the view of the high school have been cut down.
And now they say there is no buffer for the sound -- and wildlife is coming into their yards.

The CAVE is a 3-D, virtual reality tool.
