Miller worked for a construction company called C-C-I. Authorities in Powhatan County say she took the money from an account fed by vending machine revenue... $1200 over a ten month period.
Pageant Director Steve Musselwhite says he gave her until Tuesday of this week to convince authorities to drop the charges, because the V-C-U psychology major maintains she's innocent.
He lawyer tried to convince the Commonwealth's Attorney to drop the charge in time to let her compete in the Miss Virginia Pageant, but the case won't be resolved before her preliminary hearing next month.

But just hours earlier, police say 41- year- old Kathy Maddox had already been shot dead by her 15- year- old son.. when her husband John got home from work around 6:30 Wednesday.

Maddox was hit in the hand and shoulder.. his son took off in a family car but was stopped by police a short while later.
News of the shootings spread quickly in Amherst County.
Steve Coley works at the garage next door to the Maddoxes.. he says they were a quiet, down- to- earth couple who took pride in their house and property.
Coley had known Kathy Maddox most of her life.. he can hardly believe what happened.

21-year-old Rosetta Clark pleaded "no contest" to the misdemeanor.
The judge sentenced her to serve 20 days in jail.

Clark called police to her apartment in March because she couldn't stop her bleeding. Investigators say she denied giving birth.
But a trail of blood led them to the baby, wrapped in plastic bags in a dumpster at her apartment complex.

A Danville man convicted of crimes involving young girls will spend seven and a half years in prison.

A judge sentenced 25 year old Roger Donavan Freeman this morning, for eight different crimes, including sodomy, statutory rape and producing child pornography.
After he serves the seven and half year sentence, he will be on probation for three years, have to get counseling and enter into the sex offender program.
Freeman said he was sorry about what he did.
More related charges are pending against Freeman.

Kansas University assistant director of strength and conditioning Matt Link ran the combine which included the L drill, the 40 yard dash, the pro agility drill, the broad jump and the high jump. ((:))

Dwight Bogle, the coach of the Cave Spring Lions sandlot youth football team in Southwest Roanoke County for 39 years died today. No other football coach in Virginia on any level ever coached the same team for as many years as Bogle did.

Last November, many of his family members, friends and former players gathered to honor the coach. At that time they retired his team forever in the rec leagues and also renamed Cave Spring's high school field Dwight Bogle Stadium. Dwight Bogle was 68 years old.
