Hollywood has never been shy about recreating events -- however dreadful -- however rare. The deadly Nor'easter that formed in 1991 over the North Atlantic had both.

And from the big screen --NATSOT SEAGULL 10:20:17

To the marinas of Glister -- whose six fisherman were never found -- people are wondering about making MONEY off the MIRACULOUS.

(SOT/GEORGE CH-ENEY, ACTOR "THE PERFECT STORM." 13:47:50)

"Actually seeing some of the things that happened to some of these men, I don't know whether that's an easy thing to do for some of the family members."

(KER:)

Or for some of the rescuers. David Moore helped save three aboard a sinking sailboat. Now he's in the eye of another storm -- publicity.

(SOT/DAVID MOORE, FORMER COAST GUARD RESCUER 11:57:43)

"Other people have done things much more difficult, I just happened to have my name mentioned in a best selling book."

(KER:)

In Washington -- even meteorologists are finding fame in explaining the SCIENCE behind the FICTION.

(SOT/LOUIS UCCELLINI, NOAA 10:06:24)

"This storm was one of the worst storms, I'd say, in the last 25 years."

(ANNIMATION)

It was a disasterous combination of weather: A powerful low pressure system off the east coast slammed into a Hurricane that had formed to the south. The collision between the warm moist air and the cold dry air created a monster this forecaster dubbed: "the perfect storm."

(SOT/BOB CASE, METEOROLOGIST 10:09:22)

"You say a word and 9 years later it comes back to haunt you."

(NARR:)

The movie most agree IS historically accurate and is expected to create a storm at the box office. But it's also a grim reminder to a small community.
