For the 7-th time this year, Danville authorities are investigating an apparent murder.
30 year old Chris Gill of Danville died from a gun shot wound around 11 last night.
It happened when someone broke into his Westover Drive home and shot him and attempted to shoot his friend Donna Pruitt.
The victim was able to run to a neighbor's house for help but he later died at the hospital.
Danville authorities say they do have a suspect and are looking for him.
They are not releasing the motive of the shooting at this time.

Police say an early- morning shooting in Lynchburg appears to be drug- related.

Just before four, several suspects burst into this house at 915 Dearing Street.
They shot 38- year- old Edward Reeves once in the chest before robbing him of an undisclosed amount of money.
Reeves was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where he's listed in satisfactory condition.
No arrests have been made.. anyone with information should contact the Lynchburg police.

Authorities have identified the body of a man found in a Pittsylvania County driveway yesterday.

Police say it appears 18-year-old Antoine Lamont Jones of Danville was shot at least once outside a residence on Moorefield Bridge Road.
No word yet on a suspect.
Authorities are asking that anyone with information call the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a Martinsville murder.
22 year old Brian Antonio King has been charged with second degree murder and robbery in connection

with the death of 27 year old Sidney Lloyd Jones.
King was already in the Martinsville jail for possession of Marijuana.

The murder happened April 22nd on Fourth Street.
The first suspect charged was 24 year old David Tashawn Martin who turned himself in back in April.

But police say the wife of N-F-L running back Fred Lane shot and killed him.

Authorities say the couple had argued in their Charlotte home.
And Lane's father says the two were having problems recently.
Police say the district attorney will decide whether to press charges against Diedra Lane, once an investigation is complete.
Lane's death came a day after he was indicted on drug charges.
24- year- old Lane had been traded by the Carolina Panthers to the Indianapolis Colts in April.
The Colts say they're ``shocked and saddened'' by news of Lane's death.

In 1995, the state began giving inmates a choice between electrocution and lethal injection.
39 year old Michael David Clagett (KLAG-et) is the second inmate to choose the electric chair.
He was pronounced dead just after nine o'clock.
Clagett killed four strangers, while robbing a Virginia Beach restaurant in 1994.
The robbery netted 400 dollars.

At least 75 children are still in the hospital, one in serious condition.
Authorities have since closed the paint factory, which is located on the outskirts of Bangkok.

A thousand paying customers are locked out of their gym this week with no advance warning. Owner William Bailey says the landlord violated the lease by refusing to pay for a new air conditioner. Bailey hopes the club will re-open with a new air conditioner on Monday. He also says the landlord has turned off potential buyers by doubling the rent to 10-thousand-dollars a month. But the landlord that's not true, that a gym manager OFFERED to pay that much to take over the place.

A California film company is scouting Roanoke for people to be in a commercial. Gartner Films is shooting a commercial for a food product next week at V-M-I. After nearly a year of renovations, the second largest pyramid in Giza, Egypt will be made public again this month.

Workers cleaned up graffiti, mended cracks, and installed new lighting and ventilation systems.
The humidity inside the pyramid crystallized into a thick layer of salt, causing cracks to spread.
Three other tombs from the fourth dynasty will soon open to the public for the FIRST time.
They were discovered nearly 50 years ago.

The annual running of the bulls got under way today.
There were several minor injuries -- but so far, no gorings.
Officials say two Spaniards were hospitalized.
One with a bump on his head, and another with a hurt elbow.
Another 20 people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The event runs every year from July seventh through the 14th.
Bulls run through the streets in the morning and face matadors in the ring in the afternoon.
