About 50 people from Connecticut are making a long bus trip to western Virginia. They're relatives of inmates who've been transferred to the Wallens Ridge "Supermax" prison in Wise County.
Two Connecticut inmates have died there in the last year.
The relatives who left over the weekend are part of growing discontent with Connecticut's inmate transfer policy, one intended to relieve that state's overcrowded prisons.

A thunderstorm loosened garbage at a giant Manila refuse dump.
The mountain of waste collasped onto the houses below.
The rotting garbage then burst into flames, which engulfed the area.
Some shanties were completely buried by the burning heap while others lay half covered, their crumpled tin roofs showing.
Residents say as many as 200 shacks may have been buried but officials say it was hard to confirm the figure.
The impoverished squatters, including many children make their living recycling materials from the dump.
