Virginia's wine industry is booming, so why not have a state wine? That's what wine makers are asking.
Wine has been made in Virginia since Jamestown, but only recently has begun to turn a significant profit.
Some wine makers say having a state wine would help pour money into Virginia through sales, employment and tourism.
The number of Virginia wineries increased tenfold between 1979 and 1999.[8-11Radar]
