Rescue workers have recovered the body of the 13-year-old West Virginia boy who drowned yesterday in the New River.
His body was discovered shortly after one this afternoon.

Marya Jones was out at the search all day and joins us now with more.
Jean, it took search and rescue workers six hours to find the boy today.
They say they were able to locate him quickly ... in part because of the help of dozens of volunteers.

Cody and his 8-year old sister, Buffy went to the river yesterday to fish with a 10-year-old friend and his mother.
Friends say Cody was a solid swimmer.
But when he and the others got off some rocks into the water, they were immediately overpowered by the current.

Montgomery County Deputy Seth Chamberland and bystander Jennifer McInvaille (MAC-Inville) both jumped in and saved two of the kids.
Both returned today, hoping for a quick end to the search.

The search ... both by air and by water ... spanned one-and-a-half miles of the New River.
Officials say they located the boy quickly ... mainly because of divers' familiarity with the river and the help of scores of volunteers.

Rescue workers say that this unfortunate incident illustrates just how deceptively dangerous the New River can be.
And they say it should be a reminder to anyone even wading in the river that currents can get the best of even the strongest swimmers.
A former Wythe County deputy is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
A grand jury indicted Trenton Davis on one count of aggravated sexual battery.
He resigned from the sheriff's department in May, days after the alleged incident.
Sources say a friend set the deputy up on a date with the teen.
Davis is out on 5-thousand dollars bond.

More than 600 registered voters in Virginia were asked who they would vote for if the presidential election were held today.
Statewide numbers put Bush on top by 11 points.

Looking at the regional breakdown, Bush is coming out on top with a 15 point lead in Roanoke and Southwest Virginia and an 11 point lead in the Lynchburg area.
It's a close race in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads, the poll shows a 2-point Bush lead.
The Richmond area posts the most support for Bush, he racks up 54 percent of the vote.

The gender gap remains, with Bush holding a wide 54 percent to 34 percent leading among men, but a slim 44 percent to 42 percent margin among women.

Kyle says beginning with the series stop at Darlington, he will stop driving the Hot Wheels Pontiac and only drive his late son Adam's Busch car the rest of this season.
