Not only did Ferguson notice Fire Master had done a faulty job inspecting the fire extinguisher but the men weren't even certified by the state.
Fire Master owner Linda Porter says she was shocked to find out her company was doing something wrong.

A Campbell County woman narrowly escaped her burning home this afternoon.

Fire crews pulled 63-year-old Peggy Allen to safety after her home on Sleepy Hollow Road caught fire around 1:30.
Allen was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
A volunteer firefighter also had a close call after he was forced to evacuate a second-story bedroom that was engulfed in flames.
It took about thirty firefighters more than an hour to bring the blaze under control.

State police have charged a woman with drunk driving in an accident that sent four children and three adults to the hospital today.

Two cars collided and skidded onto a front lawn.
The crash threw an 8-year-old boy 70 feet through a window.
He and a woman passenger -- who weren't wearing seatbelts -- were airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
State police say Donna Renee McNeil -- the driver of a gray Chevy -- plowed through a stop sign and was hit by the white Oldsmobile.
Authorities found alcohol in her car.
State police expect to bring additional charges.

A Christiansburg man will serve three years probation for plotting to kill a judge.

Christopher DeMoranville pled guilty today to conspiring with another man to kill Montgomery County Circuit Judge Ray Grubbs.
All 10 years of his prison sentence were suspended.
DeMoranville told authorities of the plan while in jail on other charges.
He claimed he wasn't serious about it, but that his co-conspirator, Derrick Chapman, meant to go through with the assassination.
Chapman was convicted by a jury in April and sentenced to 30 years .
