Clouds of smoke could be seen for miles as police blocked all roads leading to the scene of the crash.
The plane had been chartered by a German tour company and passengers were on their way to New York to join the cruise ship Deutschland.
On Monday, British Airways said it found cracks in the wings of some of the Concorde Aircraft, but said there was no danger to passengers.

Last Thursday-- we introduced you to 67 year-old Eugene Bem who has one
severely blocked coronary artery. On this day-- instead of open heart

with the daVinci surgical system, used widely in Europe. It is now in
FDA trials at 3 US hospitals.
(SOT)
So far so good...he's stable and the operation is proceeding well.
(Track)
In a traditional bypass-- a patient's heart is stopped and their chest
bone sawed and pulled apart-- so doctors can first harvest healthy
arteries and veins- then graft them to the heart. The procedure is
considered safe-- but the trauma on the body can require weeks of
recovery-- look at this 12 inch scar on Owen Kane who had surgery last
week. He's still sore.
(SOT)
For a while it felt like someone was standing on my chest.
(Track)
In the robotic procedure-- the patient's heart is not stopped and
instead of a large cut-- surgeons make 3 small incisions-- the diameter
of a pencil.
(Split screen)
The contrast with the open procedure is dramatic-- look at the
difference in the scars. The robotic procedure works like this: a 3-D
camera goes in one incision-- the robot's two arms in another. The
system translates the surgeons actual hand movements into precise
micromovements inside the patient. In heart bypass-- the robot frees a
chest artery and drags it down over the heart. Surgeons then manually
sew the artery onto the heat thru a small 4th incision. Amazingly--
patients can leave the hospital as soon as 24 hours after surgery.
