A federal appeals court panel in San Franscio has blocked a lower court order that would have shut it down at midnight.
Napster fans are delighted, but they say even if the site is eventually forced to close, there are already others just like it.

Danville police say it happened in North Carolina when David Lee Hicks stole an officer's gun, escaped from police and kidnapped a North Carolina woman apparently at random at gun point last night.
Authorities say Hicks was last seen on West Main Street in Danville.

Several members of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen are preparing to file suit against Norfolk Southern.
They say the company has violated agreements made during negotiations proceeding the Conrail Merger.
Norfolk Southern also announced another layoff today, this one with installation workers across the Eastern Region.
53 of those workers will join the ranks of the unemployed with car shop workers on August 9th.

Lynchburg was also at an all-time June low at 2-point-2 per cent.

Investigators found another body in the charred rubble of the hotel the Concorde smashed into.
New information today about the crash from France's transport ministry- It suggests it may have been debris from a blown tire that sparked the fire.
The Concorde has had some problems in the past- that sound similar.
In 1979 two tires blew out as a Concorde was taking off from Washington Dulles.
In that incident, the debris damaged the number two engine, punctured three fuel tanks and tore a large hole in the wing.
Today a silent march was held for the victims by the residents of Gonesse- while Air France held a private memorial for the crew members that died.

Darryl Strawberry may have violated his probation by leaving a drug rehab program before his time was up. There are also reports that Strawberry visited a South Florida nightclub were alcohol is consumed, but not sold.
As part of his April 1999 probation on charges of possessing cocaine and soliciting a prostitute, Strawberry was ordered to not use drugs or frequent establishments were the main source of income is alcohol.

The 11th annual Roanoke College basketball camp came to an end today after a very successful three-week run.

In racing, Christian Fittipaldi will miss the Target Grand Prix cart race on Sunday.

Fittipaldi crashed today during practice and the Chicago Motor Speedway and was knocked out.
He was awake and alert after being removed from his Lola-Ford but Cart rules say any driver who loses consciousness dyuring a crash on race weekend is barred from racing in that event.

Percy made it back to his island home today.
If you're wondering why scientists were keeping track of this penguin- it was merely to track his safety.
Percy was one of 43-thousand Penguins rescued from an oil spill five weeks ago.
Last week Percy and two other Penguins were fitted with a tracking device and released into the water- Scientists hoped the oil dissipated so the penguins could get back to their island home.
Percy made it- so scientists took the device off and released him into the wild-
