Some families in the Elliston area say construction on the new Eastern Montgomery High School is to blame.

Residents say poor drainage from the construction site is too much for this pipe to handle. The overflow of water from the school's reservior ends up in some folks' backyards. Two to three feet of water swamped this mobile home - and the owner's dog had to be rescued from the rising water. And, today's rain caused the Wellons' family's basement to flood, causing an estimated 25-thousand dollars in damaged.
They say this isn't the first time this has happened.

A five car pile-up on Interstate 77 in Bland County this afternoon killed one man and injured three others. State police say a pick-up driven by a Bland County man was traveling south when it struck another car heading the same direction.
The truck went airborne, struck two other cars and landed on top of a station wagon.
The driver of the truck died at the scene.
Three others were taken to Wythe County Community Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Unidentifed D-N-A has been found on a knife that was used to cut her wrist.

A Lynchburg teenager was killed in a car accident last night. Authorities say 17-year-old David Jason Booth was driving on Route 766 in Amherst County when his car crossed the median and struck a tractor-trailer. Booth was pronounced dead at the scene.
