Investigators have had few leads in murder of Lori Pleasants in the past six weeks.
Now, unidentified D-N-A has been found on a knife used to cut her wrist.

The 23 year old was found in her Radford apartment June 15-th.
An autopsy showed she'd been strangled - but her wrist had also been cut.
According to an affidavit, the D-N-A on the knife did NOT match Pleasants.

A search warrant was issued on July 21-st to obtain a blood sample from a man who said he attempted to have sex with Pleasants the morning of June 15-th.
His name isn't being released because he hasn't been charged.

Police are looking for the man who robbed a bank in Amherst, this morning.
Investigators say a black male entered the F and M Bank at the Ambriar Shopping Center and demanded money. [take pinnacle page]
The suspect was NOT armed.
He's described as a black male, six foot one or taller weighing about 160- pounds.
He was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue pants.

Police say the suspect fled on foot and later got into a teal or aqua green Ford Explorer with heavy damage to the drivers side.

An inmate at the Roanoke jail has died. The Sheriff's Office says fellow inmates heard Joan Martin Hairston fall in her cell. Sheriff's officials say they'll investigate - But, they believe the 56-year-old Hairston died of natural causes. She suffered from a terminal illness.

Roanoke city and the Rescue Mission see potential in this neighborhood for a new residential recovery unit for women and children. But before anything is built the public is getting to see what the Mission wants to do with this Southeast neighborhood.

A Bedford man whose son was killed in a traffic accident pled guilty this week to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Prosecutors say William T- Curry provided alcohol to his son and the teenage driver of the car.
Curry's 15-year-old son was killed when the vehicle struck a tree.

Two high school students suspended for wearing t-shirts adorned with the Confederate flag are suing their school. The Rutherford Institute says Varina High School violated the students' constitutional right to free expression, so the Institute filed a lawsuit on their behalf.
The school has a policy banning Confederate symbols on school grounds.
The students reportedly wore the t-shirts last April, designated as Confederate History month by Governor Gilmore.

228 Norfolk Southern Employees scheduled for furlough are keeping their jobs for an extra five days.
Employees at the East End shops were to be let go next Friday, but the railroad has changed that date to August ninth.
Coal exports are now on a rise ..... a possible cause of the furlough delay.
Bank of America announced the elimination of as many as ten-thousand jobs.
Nearly 7 percent of its work force will be let go over the next year to revive growth and reduce costs.
Bank of America merged with Nationsbank which owned numerous branches throughout Virginia.
Legg Mason opened an office at First and Church, downtown. The company hopes to capitalize on the city's growth potential.
Mayor Ralph Smith came out to welcome the firm's employees to the Valley.
The company wants to service home- buyers, investors and corporations who are ready to expand in the Roanoke Valley.
Taking a look at the markets, the Dow closed at 3663 and the NASDAQ finished at ten-thousand-511 for the week.

Sue volunteered nearly 20 years of her life to the R-V-A-A and organized the City-County meet.
