The runoff from the rain also led to some evacuations from the Rising Star sports camp on Yellow Mountain Road.
Parents who had children at the camp can pick them up at Clearbrook Elementary School.
Roanoke County authorities are keeping an eye on other low-lying spots in that area.
Maggodee Creek near Boones Mill is out of its banks and flooding the highway, although traffic is still able to move.

The French government reported over the weekend that a tire blew out on take-off and that debris from the blowout could have caused structural damage and engine failure. 114 people were killed in the crash.
Goodyear has sent two of its technical experts from company headquarters in Akron, Ohio, to Paris to aid in the investigation.

Staff Sergeant Frank (Ron-gey) Gonghi has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the January killing of the 11 year old girl in Kosovo.

Former N-F-L player Rae Carruth is still in a North Carolina jail awaiting trial for his involvement in the murder of his pregnant girlfriend. Prosecutors acuse Carruth of having her killed because he didn't want to pay child support.
The baby survived and today a judge ruled the former Carolina Panther WILL get to see his son.

A Roanoke church is bringing life back to its building.

Oakland Baptist Church is tearing down its old sanctuary to make room for a family life center. The congregation currently gathers in a sanctuary built in the 1960's. It was then that the old sanctuary was converted to the first family life center. Now, some forty years later, a new fifteen hundred square feet addition will be constructed where the old sanctuary used to stand. Church officials and congregation members gathered around to watch the demolition take place this morning.

The rising junior at Cave Spring has been on the run all summer long. Back in early June he attended the invitation only NIKE camp in Indianapolis. He then helped out at George Lynch's camp before canvassing the country as part of Boo Williams AAU team.
He has played in Georgia and Orlando and in the process won a national AAU title and earned all-america honors.
