The elevator was carrying 12 people- headed to the 78th floor this morning when it lurched two floors higher and hit the concrete ceiling.
The people inside were trapped in the car for almost 25 minutes-
Firefighters had to bring another elevator alongside the crippled car- and remove the panels between the cars to get the people out.
Doctors say none of the injuries is life threatening.

It turned out Johnson's skin cancer was not the deadly form, melanoma but she still had to have it removed twice, as well as having radiation treatments.
About one million cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are diagnosed in this country every year. But the American Cancer Society says what's alarming is that the number cases of the deadly form melanoma are increasing four percent each year.
The numbers may not get better anytime soon. Doctor Karanita Ojomo at Lewis Gale Regional Cancer Center says it can take 10 to 20 years for the cancer develop once the skin has been damaged.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the Tangled Treeples pose a suffocation hazard.
A green plastic container that comes with the toys can fit over a child's nose and mouth.
The commission is telling consumers to immediately take the green plastic container away from children.
It can be returned to any Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant for an item from the menu. The recall occurred after a 19 month old girl reportedly got the toy stuck over her face.
The restaurant distributed 425 thousand of the toys.

The makers of Crayola say people's preferences change over time and since this is a census year, the company thought it would be fun to do a poll of a different color.
Since the poll began Monday, over three thousand voters have made their pick for the best of the 120 colors.
So far, various shades of blue hold eight of the top 10 spots.

A black bear that lost its paw to a Virginia Tech trap walked back out into the wild this morning.

They say they're not saying WHERE for the bear's protection.... Only that its in an area where bear hunting is illegal.
Veterinarians pronounced the bear in good health yesterday.
They amputated her paw Monday at Tech's vet school.

It had been caught in a trap Tech researchers set to study bears.
The bear was injured when it broke loose from the trap's tether and it caught on some shrubs.
Tech researchers say they're working to make their traps safer
