Carroll County school kids are getting a longer than expected summer vacation.
Five elementary schools in the county are still under construction. Parents convinced the school board to delay the start date for safety reasons.

Virginia Amateur Sports and Adelphia Business Solutions teamed up to pass out some scholarships today.

Athletes had to participate in the Commonwealth Games to be eligible. Two were awarded this year.
Cave Spring track and cross country star Kevin Henderson and Betty Casto of Williamsburg received one thousand dollars each.
Kevin is headed to Virginia Tech for Computer Engineering.
