A tractor-trailer driver led state police on a high speed chase through three counties this afternoon.
It started in Botetourt County when a trooper tried to stop the truck.
Troopers deployed several tire-deflation strips in Botetourt and Rockbridge Counties, but they didn't stop rig.
Finally, troopers at the Rockbridge-Augusta County line shot out the radiator and the truck came to a stop.
The driver-- Thomas J. (Lee-man) Lehman of Oklahoma-- was arrested without incident.
He's charged with felony assault, attempt to elude and reckless driving.

The Russian Navy has repeatedly dropped a manned rescue capsule, but the crippled sub is on its side, 350 feet down- swirling currents and near zero visibility have foiled attempts at a link-up.
Late today more aid was on the way: a sophisticated deep-sea lifeboat sent by the British after the Russians finally accepted a foreign offer to help.
But this mini-sub won't be on station till Saturday -- experts believe any surivors will run out of air Friday.

Playskool is voluntarily recalling a popular children's toy because it's potentially dangerous.

The recall involves 420-thousand Busy Poppin' Pals toys.
Small springs inside the toy can break loose, posing a choking and laceration hazard to young children.
Playskool received 16 reports of the springs breaking. Five children reportedly put the broken springs in their mouths- and two suffered cuts.
The Busy Poppin' Pals have a white carry handle and the playskool logo on the front.
They sold nationwide for the past four years for about ten dollars.

An eldery Wythe County man who spent three days trapped under his outhouse is recovering in the hospital tonight.


76-year old Coolidge (WINE-set) Winesett was rescued from the outdoor toilet yesterday after his mailman came looking for him.
He'd been trapped since Saturday when he fell five feet through the floor into some sludge.
Authorities say he's doing well tonight.

Last night, county supervisors voted 4 to 3 to spend 21- thousand dollars to connect the New London Cannery to a new wastewater system.
Dozens of residents use the facility every year to can locally- grown fruits and vegetables.
A previous effort to keep the cannery open failed on a tie vote, but supervisor Robert Bashore provided the winning margin last night.
Critics have said too few residents use the cannery to justify spending county money on it.

The Dolphins were unable to find anyone wanting to trade for Druck and his $652 thousand dollar salary.

The Middle Atlantic PGA Section Club Professional Championship at Hillendale Country Club in Baltimore Maryland is over and Wayne DeFrancesco held off Roanoke's Chip Sullivan and Dirk Schultz for the win. DeFrancesco finished six under for the tourney. Chip fired a flawless six birdie, no bogey round for a tournament low round of 66 to finish two strokes back.

David Hobbs was the head basketball coach at Alabama from 1993 to 98.
He joined Tubby Smith's staff at the University of Kentucky yesterday.
Hobbs played basketball at VCU and was an assistant with the Rams before joining the Crimson Tide in 1985 as an assistant.
