You'll remember, Chief Foutz and Lieutenant Bill Brown left the Vinton Police department last November after an investigation into the mishandling of guns, drugs and cash was launched by the Virginia State Police. A grand jury did NOT hand up any indictments against Foutz or Brown. Foutz is suing the town of Vinton for more than ten-million dollars.

The UVa men's basketball team is 3 and OH in it's six game European tour. The Cavaliers beat the Antwerp Junior Team 110-73 and the Wahoos were lead by Roger Mason's 21 points.

The Lynchburg Hillcats and Pittsburgh Pirates have announced that they have signed an agreement to remain partners for the next two seasons.

The Hillcats have been the single A advanced affiliate within the Pirates organization since 1995. The new deal will maintain that affiliation through the 2002 campaign. The Hillcats front office says the new agreement comes at a perfect time considering the team's Merritt Hutchinson Stadium is slated to undergo major renovations prior to the 2001 sea(------------) son.
